Healthy Snacks. It's been one of those super hectic weeks dealing with a sick cat (he seems to be getting better), travel arrangements and a full-week at the day job. In good news: I've finally learned to carry snacks with me so I don't have to starve while waiting for train at Penn Station (I don't really like any of the food that station offers). Hunger always strikes me while waiting for train for some reason. So I made these delicious Roasted Maple-Cinnamon Almonds that now travel with me in my purse. Super quick and easy to make and delicious. Recipe here.
Flavored water. Water. I must admit that it's been hard for me to drink enough water when the weather is cold. I just don't get thirsty. Herbal tea I drink just because it soothes my soul. Not for thirst. I received this Splash Infuser to help me get water down more easily. I just fill it with some fruits or herbs and drop it in a glass or a pitcher and voila! All natural (really all natural, not the Lay's potato chip fake natural) flavored water. Few ideas for flavor combinations:
- Strawberry, orange, mint
- Lemon, lime, cilantro
- Cucumber, lime, jalapeno
- Watermelon, blueberries, lemon, basil

Crystals. We had a girl's night in Jersey that involved a spiritual aspect as well when our friend brought all these crystals and stones for good energy. He used kinesiology and asking questions from the stones to pick the right ones for us. I got some real beauties! 
Cookbooks. I went to see Ella Woodward of the amazing Deliciously Ella giving a little lecture at Barnes & Noble in Tribeca before her book signing and got a copy of her first book. So far I've made just this one thing, but I made it 3 times already... So good! It's the Coconut Thai Curry with chickpeas, but I promise to test the other recipes as well... Soon!
Tea and donut time. I don't eat perfect all the time. I like a little treat every now and then. One of my favorites and easy-to-access treats are these donuts from our local bakery. No, I don't have them every day or even every week, but when I want one I will enjoy it without any guilt. Progress, not perfection.
