My first impression of Venice Beach was: tourist trap. People trying to pull you in to their shops for massages, others asking to listen to their music and buying their Cd's, bums, junk food, mass printed t-shirts etc. During my second visit I started liking it a little more. I overlooked the tourists and pushy vendors and just relaxed and took in the vibe. Surfers, skateboarders, alternative people, cool looking families, long piers, tattoos, piercings, artists, beautiful beach, funky houses, pretty side streets and so on. No, I don't hate it. It's actually quite exciting place.

  1. I've been to Venice numerous times over the past 17 years and always thought of of it mostly as a tourist trap. Maybe I'll think differentely now after I get to skateboard around... never skated before. ;)
