FLATIRON STREET STYLE

Here's my friend Keli whom you've seen many times in my blog and I thought it would be nice to get you two acquainted a little better. So here we go! Keli and I met in 2006 when she was hired to work at the same hotel I worked at, and still do (and so does she). I may or may have not influenced my boss' decision on hiring her. :)We instantly hit it off and started hanging out, exploring the city and eating our way through it (we both love to eat).
How would you describe your style?
I would define my style as simple but sexy.

What are your favorite items for this spring and summer?

I plan to be wearing a lot of long flowy skirts and pants this spring and summer. And I won't be afraid of any fun colors. I plan to do any color with the exception of something sexy and black for an evening event.

Where do you get inspiration for your style?
Inspiration for my style definitely comes from my body. I know my body and know what would compliment my shape. Also seeing what my friends put together inspired me to take chances with styles I've never tried before. Also, as of lately I've been spending a lot of time on Pinterest. If I see something I like and I feel I would look great in, I try to mimic that.
What are your favorite restaurants in NYC?
I'm still a fan of Bourbon Street on 46th. It has a New Orleans feel to it and I always feel comfortable there. Plus the $5 hurricanes and $10 chicken wings aren't bad. Recently I found that Dave and Busters on 42nd have $5/6/7 drinks. And a cool Arcadia. If you don't mind a bunch of kids running around and screaming, it can be a sweet spot. There's also a place called Hillstone on Park Ave that I've recently visited for dinner. I possibly had the best steak I've ever had before. And there are many more, but these three stick out for me at the moment.

Where do you like to shop?
As far as stores go, I have always found cute items in Forever 21, H&M and Zara. I do good with shoes in Aldo and recently got two great pairs for spring/summer out of DSW

Favorite area to hang out?
My favorite hangout spots aren't really in the city. There are so many wonderful sections of Brooklyn that really have captured my heart. Downtown Brooklyn is nice and is really changing For the better. Brooklyn Heights is just simply gorgeous. The brownstones are to die for. Not to mention the Brooklyn promenade is an amazing place to visit all times of the day.

You must-do's for this spring/summer?
This spring/summer I simply want to do what I do every spring/summer... and that is have fun. I want to get dressed up and go out. Whether it be grabbing a drink at a popular bar, hitting up one of these day parties that pop up ever so often, rent a car and drive down to Jersey for Great Adventures or grab a blanket and head to Prospect Park (which is gorgeous). The plan is to enjoy life.
Keli is also an aspiring actress so check out this fun commercial below shot in summer Harlem. Love it! Back in the day we also did this fun NY Film Academy project together...
