First of all thank you for all your messages and comments. We are alright. Our apartment did not flood since there was really not that much rain involved with the storm, our property did not occur any damages and we didn't lose power even everyone else around us did (80% of our town). My sister-in-law's family in our hundred year old Victorian house is still without power (and it's cold now). We did provide them with generator so they can heat the house and charge their cellphones and laptops at least. We were very lucky. There's still no public transportation and my job in West Village has no electricity so I'll be staying home this entire week. I edited my hurricane report and added after the storm images from our town (you can skip to 1:54 if you saw the first part of it already).
Send your loving thoughts to the Caribbean and US for all those who were affected.

Alkaa jaakaapista ruuat kaveleen vastaan... Muuten meillakin kaikki ok! Vahan erahenkea!
ReplyDeleteHyvä kuulla, että teillä kaikki on kunnossa :)!
ReplyDeleteI was thinking about you- so glad you didn't get flooded. We got power back just a few hours ago. Rough week. My old street in Staten Island was wiped out. We had no electricity, internet or phone all week. A little property damage but no flooding. We lost all our fresh and frozen food. I'm devasted over all the damage done to NJ and NY and all the lives lost. Both my husband and I have been at home all week. I feel so lucky that we all survived this.
ReplyDeleteGlad to hear you are ok! That must be terrible to see your old neighborhood get destroyed. I'm going to work tomorrow for the first time after Sandy because my husband is driving in, but not sure how I'm going to get there the days he isn't going to the city. Our train line is still down at least until the end of this week. Lots of damage on the tracks. Plus the path trains are out as well. Really need to find that job in our town soon... Take care Kristina!
DeleteTulin tutkimaan miten täällä voidaan myrskyn jälkeen. Hyvä että olette kunnossa!
