CUBAN LUNCH AL FRESCO

The other weekend weather was just right, not too hot, not too humid and what that calls is al fresco dining. Or in our case, lunching. This local Cuban restaurant is one of the cutest places I've been to. Service is always great, food delicious and atmosphere screams for fun times.
Appetizers.
Huge salads.
Sweet desserts.
And a bottle of wine. I wish summer could last forever. Have a great weekend! Mine will be spent finishing up our move. Still so much stuff in our old place that it will take the entire weekend to clear the house. I shall never buy another thing in my life. This move has been a lesson in life...

MONDAY BLUES

Actually it's a good Monday. I woke up at 4.30am, had breakfast served with a side of soft jazz at Starbucks, was at work by 6.30am and off work by 2.30pm. All day ahead of me and the weather is gorgeous. Sunshine, good food, friend or two and the outdoors. Love, love, love summer.

WEEK IN SNAPSHOTS

We moved in to our new place and cats got adjusted pretty fast. First day they would hide under the bed, but they've come out since then. The place has their approval.
They love their pink shirts. Not.
In the midst of the move I also went to my friend's baby boy's baptism at St. Patrick's Cathedral and we had wonderful lunch at Cipriani Dolci at Grand Central Station.
My friend's friend's band Soundhouse playing secret gig at McKittrick Hotel last Wednesday. Check them out. Mr. Reed has one amazing voice. Wow.
Lunch at HanGawi. HanGawi serves vegan Korean cuisine in a very authentic setting. No shoes allowed in this zen environment.
I had sizzling hot tofu clay pot dish with ginger sauce served with dark rice and beans and multi grains and the flavors were just amazing.

GREENS

COLORS AND GOODBYES

No, I'm not pregnant...
We said goodbyes to our 100 year old Victorian House last weekend and moved down the street in the heart of a cute little artsy town. We went through many options where to move, but we both love this town and decided to stay here at least another year and try to figure out where we want to go next. California has always been our favorite, but we have interest on New Mexico as well. So we'll try to figure all this out in the next year or so. Luckily our old lady Victorian stays in the good care of our family so we don't really have to say goodbyes.

FIRE ISLAND - CHERRY'S ON THE BAY ANNUAL DRAG ATTACK

At Fire Island love is all around... And pink martinis.
And outrageous outfits. Not sure if this is how it's on a normal night at Cherry's on the Bay, but we happened to be there during the annual Drag Attack so yeah, it was a bit over the top fabulous. But so much fun.

ON THE WAY TO FIRE ISLAND

Fire Island is the ultimate beach getaway just a short ferry ride from Long Island. The island is car-free and very LGBT-friendly and so not pretentious like the Hamptons can be. Before heading out to the ferry terminal we had some apple martinis at a friends patio in Babylon.
Yes, there's a boat slip in her backyard. Is this what the real housewives do all day, coz I'm loving it! Now how do I get in?
So of course time flies when you're having fun sipping martinis in this gorgeous weather and we were late driving to the ferry and missed it just by few minutes. Bummer.
So we hung out at the beach, ate some junk food at the ferry terminal restaurant and that way those 2 hrs didn't end up feeling so long. Just like I said earlier; time flies when you're having fun.
And so we finally hopped on the ferry. Little did we know that we took the wrong one...
To be continued...

GYM

Gym does good for my body, but god it's so boring. Starting July 16th I'm going to prove that yoga can do the same. And for those interested in nutrition, listen to Superfood Guru David Wolfe's interview here.
