Another quick visit to Pure Food and Wine. The plan was just to have a drink (Master Cleanse Tini), but I couldn't resist the food. One look at the menu and I was on it. And this is what I had this time. Unfortunately I don't remember exactly what it was, but it was some kind of deliciousness with Indian flavors.
I also had room for desert; Mexican Cinnamon Mousse (guajillo chili pepper chocolate cake, pear relish and sorbet). Sooo good!

I've truly enjoyed the extra two days off from work that I had this week making it a four day weekend. Weather hasn't been the warmest, but  I've bundled up and sat outside in the garden and also managed to do some rebounding.
Since we have so many beautiful flowers outside I brought few of them inside to brighten up the decor and celebrate the bunny days.
These daffodils instantly liven up the room. Our tulips still haven't bloomed so I believe they're the next ones to come up. The previous owners of our house were master gardeners so there's always something popping up from the grounds at different times of the year. Personally I'm terrible with flowers and plants. We only have two plants in our house and they both look like they want to die on me.

"Yellow yellow daffodil, dancing in the sun..
oh yellow , yellow daffodil, you tell me spring has come.
I can hear a blue bird sing, and hear a robin call.
but yellow yellow daffodil I love you most of all."
Have a beautiful weekend!

This will be the view from my office...
...and this will be my house. Yes, the entire house. And don't forget the private chef and bartender. Ah, home, sweet home. And I thought we were just going backpacking... Hubby sure knows how to surprise me.

What a week! So happy to be off from work and just be at home, catch up on everything I've neglected, cook something good, spend quality time with the cats (and hubby too), IM with my family in Finland, read a lot of blogs and eat lots of marshmallows. I also started reading the Beauty Detox Solution and so far it rocks. Very easy to read and it all makes so much sense.

Have a wonderful weekend fabulous people!

I got a blogger award from these two lovely ladies a while back, Lady Laetitia and Business Woman, and I've finally come up with seven things to reveal about myself, so here you go:
1. I ALWAYS start my morning with a huge jug of green smoothie inspired by Kimberly Snyder
2. When I was a teenager I had long dreadlocks for years
3. I also had a pet rat named Rebel Yazka, named after my ex-boyfriend
4. I've been mugged once in Helsinki, never anywhere else in the world
5. When I was a 17 years old I met Indian Sadhu in a local bus in Finland and 2 months later I was traveling around India with him
6. I've attended Kumbh Mela Sadhu Festival in Hardwar, India in 1998 together with 10 million pilgrims. Most amazing experience of my life
7. I wish to become a yogini one day

P.S. My very first giveaway lucky winners are: Uusi Aamu and Keidi. Congratulations ladies! Thank you everyone for participating and spreading the word! More to come so stay tuned!

Pure Food and Wine is one of those places I've been dying to try for as long as I can remember, but never went. Until yesterday. I met up with an old friend of mine who is a bit of a mentor to me when it comes to holistic lifestyle, healing and veganism.
I tried their Master Cleanse Tini that I see Sarma always mentioning on Twitter and it was quite delightful. Maybe my favorite cocktail so far. And I won't feel bad at all drinking it because it really has nothing artificial in it. Could it even be good for you? I think it could. I'll stick to that opinion. See the recipe here.
Pure Food and Wine serves raw, organic, vegan fare and for appetizers we had these cute Hazelnut Crostinis with Crimini Mushrooms and Caper Bearnaise, caraway sauerkraut and local apple cider reduction. Yummy!
Niwa Maki of Avocado, Enoki Mushrooms, Pickled Heirloom Baby Carrots, asparagus, mango, scallions, spicy aioli. Most delicious maki rolls I've ever had.
Sweet Corn and Cashew Tamales with Chili Spiced Portabella, salsa verde, cashew coconut sour cream, avocado and raw cacao mole.
I can't find the description for this deliciousness on their website, but I must say I've never ever eaten a portabella mushroom this tasty. It just melts in your mouth. This would be a great dish for my carnivore hubby. It's so much better than a bloody steak. I already made a date with him to come back here and introduce Mr. Meathead to raw vegan world. He cannot not love this!

I've been wanting to visit the Limelight Marketplace for the longest time and the other day when I was walking down 6th Avenue with my friend looking for a place to eat we bumped into it. Just like that.
The Limelight in Chelsea used to be an Episcopal church, then infamous club and now has take a turn to more family friendly direction. It's really pretty and houses many unique and interesting little stores.
My photos really don't do any justice for the architecture of this place because it's truly gorgeous (check out their website).
I fell in love with these pretty earrings and necklaces from Hanami. They're made from real flowers that are dried and covered with multiple layers of resin.
After a long walk we found a chain restaurant to eat at. Yes, I said a chain restaurant. But a really nice one. Vapiano serves pizza, pasta and salads in a casual yet chic atmosphere. It's huge and red and has fresh herbs growing in each table.
It was Tuesday so they had Martini night therefore I enjoyed Vapiano Martini that had my favorites; gummy bears. Pretty amazing. And amazingly pretty.
Cheers! Have a great weekend!
