Time to share few other great products I've discovered this week. I've been using Tom's of Maine natural toothpaste for ages, but now switched to Weleda which is 100% certified biodynamic and organic (and cruelty free). So far I like it a lot. Gets the job done beautifully.
I've also been on the lookout for a great moisturizer for my acne prone skin and was very highly recommended Live Live & Organics' Bee Yummy Skin Food. But they've been out of stock for the longest time, so I had to find something else in a meanwhile. I bumped into Pangea Organics first time during Fashion's Night Out at Sephora while waiting on line to get my smoky eye done. I was so happy to find this product made especially for my skin type; Moroccan Argan with Willow and Rosemary. Pictured also my good old favorite moisturizing cherry mask.
While I was taking these photos in our bathroom this guys insisted on sitting on my lap purring the entire time. He is such a monkey. Love him.
Weather has been amazing this past week and we've got some really warm temperatures. Inspired me to beautify the front of our house. Although kept the Halloween decor to the minimum.
And now I'll just concentrate on waiting for the Halloween weekend to start. We might attend few parties, or none at all. That shall remain to be seen. Take a look at my Halloween memories in a meanwhile.

Like I said previously, I never carved a pumpkin in my life so that just had to be done. I dressed for the occasion by bringing out my Viking princess hair and fixed some Bloody Marys (with Finlandia Vodka, naturally). It's a healthy drink too, right? Here's the story:

Tomato juice is a great source of many vitamins and minerals, such as vitamin A and C. One cup of tomato juice will give you about 74% of your daily recommended value of vitamin C and 2% of your vitamin A.

Other vitamins in tomato juice are K, B1, B2, B3, B5, B6, potassium, magnesium, iron and phosphorous.
The main organic compound in the tomato is lycopene. Lycopene gives tomato the red color and has been found to have antioxidant and cancer-preventing properties. So yay me! I've combined living healthy and getting buzzed!
The mad pumpkin slasher strikes. This scene could very well be from a horror movie...
Enjoying the warm evening out with my pumpkins.
While waiting for the 31st... Stay warm.

This is what I love about fall; humidity and heat is gone, air is fresh and crisp, sun shines and world is full of colors. The other day I took a stroll around the town and captured some photos along the way. These photos were taken with my phone's camera so they do not make justice to the actual colors.
I stepped in to this gorgeous victorian that houses Goddess in Eden, center for healing, empowerment and spiritual enlightenment. I just intended to buy some incense (we use a lot of myrrh and frankincense in our house), but the owner (and certified healer) Robin offered to cleanse my aura as well. I would not be a person to say no to that, so she lighted some special sage and smudged my body (and aura).
This is an ancient Native American ritual. After doing that she took a big piece of some kind of crystal (sorry, can't remember what kind) and started sweeping all the dirt off my aura, from the top of my head to the bottom of my feet. She also gave me some crystals as a gift and invited me to their Goddess Circle. I might go. I think it's a great way to meet new people with same mind set and learn something new about myself.
We also went pumpkin picking to a local farm and got these two beauties. That third beauty on the left we already had for few years.
I've never carved a pumpkin in my life so I'll make it a spectacle this year. Maybe some pumpkin martinis and pumpkin hors d'oeuvres  will be served on the side. And costumes are to be worn.
Have a beautiful weekend pumpkins!

I didn't have time to make my green smoothies twice this week and boy what a difference in energy level. Even it doesn't fill my stomach one bit it sure gives me energy for the day. So from now on, no matter how early I gotta get up I should make sure to make time for smoothie. Yes, even those Mondays when I have to get up at 4.30am and it's dark and cold...
Our pepper plant is growing wild and we froze some of the peppers, because we can't eat them all.  I made (my own variation) of Korean kimchi stew and added some of the pepper to it to give it a nice kick. I love spicy veggie stews during the fall and winter. Great comfort food.
As the weather gets colder and drier it's time to concentrate on moisturizing. I found this Avalon Organics Tea Tree (my fave) conditioner at Ricky's and it's doing it's job. I massage it all over my scalp and hair and let it condition for about 10 minutes. For body, 100% raw organic coconut oil.
This soap should have 18 different uses. But I only need it for one thing. I stopped using shower gels while ago and keep testing different kind of soap bars. There's so many interesting raw, organic soaps out there and I'm on a mission to find the best one. Raw African shea butter soap has so far been my favorite.

It's been raining and getting colder each day (except today was really nice and warm again). I guess fall is finally here. Not my favorite season, but I'll get through it (and winter). I've been continuing to enjoy my green smoothies each morning and definitely noticed the increased energy level. Unfortunately my skin is still pretty bad. So I took more radical action and booked an appointment for colon hydrotherapy at Sanavita Center for Holistic Cleansing
For those who are new to the subject, a Colonic is simply the gentle infusion of water into the rectum to both hydrate the body and eliminate toxins. Toxins build up in the colon from food we eat and from the functions of the liver, which dumps filtered toxins from the blood into the intestines for final elimination.

Benefits of colonic are reduction of constipationclear skin, increased energy levels, improved level of constipation, overall healthful feeling and absorption of vitamins and minerals from food in a better way.

I really liked how cozy and homey Sanavita was. My colon therapist was super nice and made me feel comfortable in a very awkward situation. She asked me to put on a hospital gown with an open back that covers lower abdomen and legs and lie down on the bed on my side while she inserted the tube attached to a machine in my rectum. This didn't feel like anything and I slowly turned on my back so that we could start the session.

She turned on the machine and warm water started flowing in to the colon. As soon as I felt too much pressure I asked her to release the water and it would all come out through the tube with pieces of feces. She would also massage my stomach in order to help the water and feces to come out. We kept filling and releasing quite a few times, and twice we did it with chlorophyll instead of just water to help break the stubborn buildups.

After about an hour the tube was removed and I had about ten minutes in my own private bathroom to release the rest of the water and feces. And let me tell you, there was tons coming out. And it would just keep coming out pretty much the rest of the day every time I used the bathroom.  Very cleansing experience.

After I was done I was given electrolyte drink filled with trace minerals to replenish lost electrolytes and a pro-biotic to help replenish the healthy flora (good bacteria) that was lost during the colonic. Read here more about what to expect during the session.

I'm definitely going to do it again even I didn't experience any immediate results with my skin clearing or energy levels. It did help me to get regular though. I was very constipated according to my therapist since I informed her that I have bowel movement only every 2 to 3 days. Healthy colon has at least one a day. And that's where I'm at now.
Sanavita is located right across the street from a very nice health store called Natural Green Market.  I was told by my therapist to get ground flaxseeds in order to get enough fiber in my diet (also great source of Omega-3) as well as herbal tea called Smooth Move
I have about one tablespoon of flaxseeds in the evening after dinner with plenty of fresh water (important to drink lots of water, otherwise you get stomach pain) and cup of tea before going to bed. It still amazes me how well my colon started working immediately after the colonic and the flaxseed+tea combo. This is the start of a healthier life. I've come one step closer again feeling great.
